JOAD stands for Junior Olympic Archery Development, a program of USA Archery which is offered at archery ranges and clubs throughout the United States. Young people as young as 8 years old may sign up for these weekly group lessons in which they are taught range safety and proper archery techniques and shooting form. As the archer advances, they may move into our Advanced Competitive Program. We are home to over 75 youth archers who are actively competing, and we are proud that we have FIVE 2009 National Champions in the recurve and compound disciplines, currently in our JOAD program, as well as over ten students who have finished in the top five nationally in their divisions!

How to Choose the Right Class for Your Child:
" JOAD Classes (one hour in duration) will focus on each student as an individual, and will be open to beginning and intermediate students. In JOAD Classes, we will focus on each student individually, and base their instruction on their individual needs, thus best catering to the needs of students who are just beginning in archery, or those who have had experience, but who have not yet had any competitive experience.
" Advanced Competitive JOAD Classes (ninety minutes in duration) are open to all students who were previously enrolled in Advanced classes, or if the student was not previously enrolled, are open to students who will be actively competing as of this fall. If the student has not previously been enrolled in an Advanced class, they must have the Instructor's permission to enroll. The focus in these classes will be on advanced shooting techniques, technical training and mental management in preparation for competition. We hope that this kind of specialized instruction will allow all of our JOAD participants to enjoy archery even more!
